Dinner, dance activity set by High Springs Lions Club for Saturday, Nov. 14

HIGH SPRINGS -- The High Springs Lions Club is planning a dinner and dance activity for Saturday, Nov. 14, starting at 6 p.m.

The cost is $10 per person, and the event is open to the public. Two live bands, one local, will be featured.

The club received statewide recognition as the fastest growing Lions Club in Florida at the recent Governor's Dinner at Turkey Creek and currently lists about 90 members, up from about 18 four years ago.

The club also agreed to participate in this years' Pioneer Days celebration and elected Lion Fred Wilcox to serve as the new General Manager of Club activities.

At the organization’s Monday meeting, the club noted that five eyeglasses had been provided to needy applicants. The provision of eyeglasses, free of charge, has been a major feature of Lions clubs for many years. In addition, the club elected Lion John Sullivan as its 2nd Vice President.
